This is it! Less than 70 miles to go. I'm off! This time through my own backyard. Since I work in Ventura county, I feel like I'm already home. But I can't stop now. Through Ventura, Oxnard and to Port Hueneme, I'm on the Pacific Coast Highway headed to Malibu. Gosh! I can't believe I'm here. Less than a week ago I was in San Francisco! It sure makes the distance seem alot less now that I've done it on a bicycle. Lunch in Malibu Lagoon State Beach and its only 11 more miles to go. 2 miles later its the last pit stop before Century City. Up San Vicente, over to Olympic then Century Park East and to Pico into the Fox Studios Lot. I made it! And its only 2:00 PM. I think I'll take a siesta until the 4:30 closing ceremonies. And what a ceremony! A stage is set up under the bridge over Avenue of the Stars with the riders parading from Pico to the bridge. After a number of speakers there's a celebration (the ride raised over 9 million dollars!) and the riders all lift their bikes in the air. And now I look forward to a LONG night's sleep.
